Downtown Kansas City Wedding at The Grand Hall | Lucy Wears the Abigail Gown by PURE Ateliers

Lucy & Brian’s Grand Hall Wedding: A Classic Love Story with a Modern Twist

Some weddings just radiate joy—and Lucy and Brian’s day at The Grand Hall in downtown Kansas City was exactly that. From the moment Lucy stepped into our studio to the final, stunning photo on the staircase, every detail of their day was infused with charm, beauty, and just the right amount of sparkle.

We still talk about Lucy’s dress story around here. It was one of those rare, magical "first try and done" moments. The Abigail gown by PURE Ateliers was the very first dress Lucy tried on—and it was love at first zip. A classic ballgown silhouette reimagined with a modern cat-eye neckline, ruched bodice, and elongated basque waist, it had all the drama without being over the top.

The moment she stepped out in it, her mom immediately burst into tears (yes, we cried too). Even though we tried on a few more just to be sure, nothing else compared. At one point while we were pulling more options, Lucy said, “I’d rather just go put the first dress back on”—and that was it. Decision made, no stress. We loved her chill, confident vibe.

To complete her look, we added a pair of dramatic Sara Gabriel earrings—an elegant mix of Swarovski crystals and pearls—and a cathedral-length veil from Aisle Studio with horsehair trim and a voluminous blusher that brought even more dimension and structure to her bridal moment.

When the big day arrived, Lucy looked every bit the modern bride in her timeless gown, while Brian looked sharp and completely smitten. Their portraits—editorial, romantic, and full of movement—capture the effortless chemistry between them. And The Grand Hall, with its soaring ceilings and historic charm, provided the perfect backdrop.

But there’s one photo we keep going back to: a moment frozen in time that perfectly sums up the beauty of the day. It’s Brian gently leading Lucy up a staircase, her full train cascading behind her, her veil floating with volume and grace. It’s elegant. It’s emotional. It’s everything.

Congratulations, Lucy and Brian! You made our hearts full. We’re so honored to have been a part of your story.
